Decision-Making Survey

Thank you for taking part in this research survey conducted by the Facilitation and Synthesis Project (F&SR) within the Sustainable Development of Urban Regions (SURE) funding priority, sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space of Germany (BMFTR.) SURE supports research and innovation for sustainable urban development across Southeast Asia, China, and Germany.

We would like to ask for your support to better understand the types of decision‑makers involved in sustainable urban development, how they approach decisions, and what needs or challenges they encounter. Your insights will directly support the development of a decision support model and tool for professionals across sectors. Although the survey is rooted in the SURE research context, it is intentionally designed for a wider audience of decisionmakers beyond the SURE community and will be made launched by 2028.

The survey takes about 20-25 minutes to complete across three secrions:

Section A – Understanding Decision Makers (8 questions): Demographics, location, sector, professional role, and familiarity with sustainable urban development topics.

Section B – Understanding Decision‑Making (6 questions): Types and frequency of decisions, contributions to decision processes, and challenges encountered.

Section C – Information and Needs (6 questions): How participants access information, preferred formats, and support needs during different stages of decision‑making.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at sure@hcu-hamburg.de. For project updates, you can follow us on LinkedIn or subscribe to our newsletter

We appreciate your time and expertise.

Sincerely the F&SR team
